Test Day!

   Today, we had our test on A Message to Garcia and the "Excellence" powerpoint. I went over the notes a little this morning to remind me of all the information we learned, and when I saw the test, I thought I was going to do pretty well. The front page was multiple choice questions all about A Message To Garcia, the back page was fill-in-the blank questions about Socrates from the "Excellence" powerpoint. The last page (front and back) were two essays- one where we had to explain Socrates' trial and death, and the second was what we would say if we were a jury member in Socrates trial. I would say he is not-guilty. I had to explain my response in detail, in the essay. Overall, I think I did well on the test. I was just sad that I forgot the bonus question. :(

In Ancient Greece, dramas were performed as a form of art, just like plays in our society today. Dramas back then would focus on leadership, justice, and duties owed to the gods. There were two types of drama in Ancient Greece. A tragedy is one type. Tragedies were serious dramas about common themes such as love, hate, war, or betrayal. Thoughts on Mr. Schick's Blog

   On yesterday's Western Civ. blog post, Mr. Schick posted a bunch of his thoughts on aspects of cyber school. One thing he mentioned in his list was accountability. During this time away from our regular school environment, we are finding that students really need to step up by focusing on doing our assignments with our 100% effort, by realizing the importance of doing our own work, and trying our hardest to manage our time so that we get our work done efficiently. I would completely agree with this. From my point of view, I am finding it harder to get my work done efficiently. Not only do we have an increased workload of schoolwork, but we have to give it our all and try our best on these assignments, with all the difficulties surrounding us. To be completely honest, I find myself wanting to just look up the answers to my work, but then I realize that I need to truly understand the subject/topic we're learning.
