Test Day!

   Today in class we took a test on maps, grids, time zones, and more. I think I did well, but I don't know if I got an 100%. There was one part of the test that gave you examples of locations and you had to determine whether they were relative, absolute, or neither. Absolute location is the exact location of a place expressed by latitude and longitude. Relative location is the regional position or situation of a place relative to the position of other places. However, I'm not sure if I marked all of them with the right answer. For example, I marked "the Midwest" as neither, but I think it is relative. I do not think I focused too much on relative and absolute location when I should have. Similarly, I think I focused more on latitude and longitude than time zones, but it's okay. Overall, I hope I got an A on my test. The test went MUCH better than the pop quiz we took yesterday.

In Ancient Greece, dramas were performed as a form of art, just like plays in our society today. Dramas back then would focus on leadership, justice, and duties owed to the gods. There were two types of drama in Ancient Greece. A tragedy is one type. Tragedies were serious dramas about common themes such as love, hate, war, or betrayal. Thoughts on Mr. Schick's Blog

   On yesterday's Western Civ. blog post, Mr. Schick posted a bunch of his thoughts on aspects of cyber school. One thing he mentioned in his list was accountability. During this time away from our regular school environment, we are finding that students really need to step up by focusing on doing our assignments with our 100% effort, by realizing the importance of doing our own work, and trying our hardest to manage our time so that we get our work done efficiently. I would completely agree with this. From my point of view, I am finding it harder to get my work done efficiently. Not only do we have an increased workload of schoolwork, but we have to give it our all and try our best on these assignments, with all the difficulties surrounding us. To be completely honest, I find myself wanting to just look up the answers to my work, but then I realize that I need to truly understand the subject/topic we're learning.
